About Animate Detroit

We can't help but see some parallels between Adler Schnee and a local up-and-comer: Juan Carlos Angeles also makes homewares, also works with a needle and thread and also has a lighthearted streak.

Angeles, 28, lives in the westside Oakman Boulevard community and is a web developer for the City of Detroit. But in his off-hours, when he’s not volunteering as a tour guide for Preservation Detroit, he’s making stuffed animals -- or stuffed buildings, to be precise. Angeles launched his brand Animate Detroit in November with a collection of three plush toy versions of the Guardian Building, the Renaissance Center and the Penobscot.

Our Mission - Animate Detroit aims to spread knowledge of local landmarks, history, and architecture through original designs and collectible memorbilla.
